In this Lesson

To be a seed is to fully embrace the wholeness of who we are and the possibility for who we can become. To be a seed is to accept that to grow means we must let go of who and what we think we are - to crack open our hard outer shell and let our truest, most vibrant colors find the light.

The resources below are reflections, practices, and further reading on accepting where we are, rooting deeply into ourself, and nurturing a life filled with meaning, wonder, and purpose.

To Grow in the Dark

spend some time with the wheel of life

Find somewhere where you can focus and really reflect.

Visualize your life and all the different segments on the wheel. With an open mind, an open heart, and courage to sit with discomfort. Consider each segment and how you relate to each one. What does this part of your life look like? What does it feel like? Observe what emotions come up but don’t fixate on anything in particular, simply take note of what comes up without judgment.

Ask yourself questions like: Who are the people who are most important to you? Do you feel truly, deeply connected to them? Does your work provide what you need? Do you feel connected to your work? Do your days feel meaningful and fulfilling?

Once you’ve sat with these questions and the wholeness of your life, take some time to reflect on how the choices you’ve made in your life have brought you here and why. What choices did you make with intention? What choices did you allow others to make for you? When have you chosen not to choose?

Once again, notice what comes up without judgment.

This practice allows us to reflect on our life truthfully with open eyes. We are looking for information, not judgment and criticism.
